Let them Learn through Laughter

A Unique Experience

Here's what makes Reuben's workshops unlike anything your school has seen before:

Comedy

The students will be laughing throughout the entire performance. This will feel like a treat and not a chore. Reuben has 40 years of experience as a professional comedy performer for children and teens; he knows that topics stick when there is a roomful of smiles.

High Energy

Reuben moves through the audience, bringing the performance to every corner of the room — nobody at the back gets left behind. These aren't off-the-shelf workshops delivered from a script. Every topic is one Reuben has lived, researched and genuinely cares about, and students can tell the difference.

Interactive

Students don't just listen — they participate. Social games, physical props and live interaction put them at the centre of every workshop. With decades of improvisation experience, Reuben reads the room and responds to the audience in front of him, making every performance genuinely different.

  • Workshops are 1 hour in duration.

  • Suitable for primary and secondary students (see individual workshops for details).

  • Prices from €200.

  • No projector or hall required - Reuben can perform in any classroom or space.

Erin Mollison, Teacher - Dangen National School, Co. Meath

'All of the children AND the staff really enjoyed the performance. The children said that he was “absolutely hilarious” and they learned so much from him. They couldn’t believe that such an important topic could be learned about with such humour!'

Dermot Dix, Principal, Rathdown School, Glenageary, Co. Dublin

'We all really enjoyed the show! I'd definitely like to get you back to Rathdown again.'

Dr. Barry O' Leary, Principal, St. Kevin's N.S. Sallynoggin

'Reuben’s approach was not one of fearmongering but of encouragement and practical solutions - how to step away from digital distractions and rediscover the simple pleasure of genuine interaction. His shows were timely, necessary, very memorable and meaningful!

Reuben's first workshop came about after the principal of his children's school expressed her frustration with a company hired to deliver an internet safety talk — it had been a dull, disengaging lecture. With two months until her retirement, she challenged Reuben to do better. Having seen him perform a comedy magic show for the school previously, she believed he could bring humour to even the most serious of subjects.

The performance was a great success. Reuben has since added many workshops to his catalogue, bringing decades of live performance experience — and a lot of laughter — into hundreds of schools nationwide.

Reuben is always looking to develop new workshops based on what schools actually need. If there's a topic your students are struggling with that isn't yet in his catalogue, he wants to hear about it — the best workshops come from real conversations with teachers and principals on the front line.

That commitment to the education community brought Reuben to the annual IPPN Deputy Principal Conference, where he entertained and engaged over 500 attendees. It's the kind of audience that knows immediately whether something works in a school setting — and they loved it.

TWO COMEDY WORKSHOPS ON INTERNET SAFETY

Whether students are already online or just about to be, the digital world needs explaining before the risks arrive. These two workshops give students the tools to recognise how social media manipulates behaviour and how to spot dishonesty online:

The Case for Comedy in Education

Dr. Ruth Poproski

Associate Director for Teaching
and Learning at the University of Georgia

'When students laugh, they are more relaxed and more able to engage in learning. If I say ridiculous things, it gives them permission to say things that may or may not be right — it lowers the stakes for participation."

Workshops are also available via Zoom on school digital whiteboards — and they're just as interactive as the in-person shows. Students speak directly with Reuben, respond to his questions and take part in activities throughout.

Broadcasting from his studio in Kildare, Zoom is a cost-effective option for schools outside easy travelling distance — no compromise on energy or engagement, just a lower price point.
